H-P Poikonen begins to search for musicians to form a new rock band. After giving it a shot with a couple of players, the first functional band lineup is formed:
H-P Poikonen - Vocals, guitar
Markku Halinen - bass
J-P Varis - drums
The band's first demo is recorded soon after. It consists of one song called "The Glass Touch".
The band performs live for the the first time in Lohja. This will be the band's first and last live show as a trio. Soon a keyboard player was to be introduced to make the band sound bigger. The man for the job is Markku's old buddy Matti Kari.
Pin Ion begin to test their wings onstage. Soon it is the time to start the recordings for the first EP "The First Words". The band also plays their first gigs outside Helsinki.
It's time for JP to leave the band. H-P's friend Lauri steps in as a session drummer for Pin Ion. During the next months the band plays a few gigs to get things groovin'. Later it is time to get into studio to record the new EP, "Sedna's Time". Compared to the previous recordings the EP shows a giant leap both musically and technically.
Before the end of the year the long search is finally over! Petri Keskinen steps in to complete the foursome as a permanent drummer. With the new lineup the band feels much more confident on stage than ever before.
PIN ION becomes more active on live stages, gaining name and fame. A new EP with 3 songs is recorded by the title "All Her Glory". There are some significant live shows in places such as Nosturi, Helsinki.
The band decides to turn into a more organic direction in their sound. A new guitarist, Vesa Makkonen, is introduced to the world! H-P concentrates on his vocal performance on stage, taking the band's gigs to a new level. As a direct proof to that, PIN ION blasts the hell out of all competitors at London Pub's band contest! There's also a new successful visit for some gigs in Estonia. /p>
PIN ION signs a record contract with a special new label, Grund Records. They publish their official debut single and begin to prepare for the recordings of the album "Take Your Time" to be published in 2008. The first single from the album is Ordinary Special.
